Price API and webhooks — prices, history and alerts, accessible programmatically
4pricing's price data is accessible through a REST API: your tracked products, their price history, group comparisons, opportunities and the daily briefing, plus pushing your own prices and daily sales. The signed webhook sends an HTTP POST to your URL on alerts, on every approved price (price.apply, price.revert) and when the briefing is ready (briefing.ready). There are no ready-made connectors for ERPs, WMSs or shops: your team or an integrator builds the link on the API.
What you can build on the 4pricing API
REST API for prices
Read your tracked products' current prices through authenticated REST endpoints, with JSON responses. An OpenAPI specification is available.
Price history via the API
Pull the price history of any tracked product, to use in your own reports and analytics. Reads are free.
Webhook on alert events
When one of your alerts fires — a price below or above a level, a percentage drop, back in stock, or a competitor undercutting you — you receive a signed POST with a JSON payload on your endpoint. It is not a general price-change feed.
Your sales, the basis of the money figures
POST /sales/bulk takes your daily sales per product (up to 2,000 rows, idempotent per product and day). The estimated value of opportunities is computed from them; without sales the value stays “—”, never an invented number.
Opportunities and briefing
GET /insights/ (findings with evidence and price proposals), GET /opportunities/ (a summary: the sales-based value, kept separate from the market estimate) and GET /briefings/latest (the daily briefing).
Price actions and confirmation
GET /actions/ lists price actions (proposed, sent, applied, reverted). After your system applies a price received through price.apply, POST /actions/{id}/confirm moves the action to “applied”.
API keys
Create API keys in the panel and revoke them any time; they need an active plan. Send the key in the X-API-Key header (or as a Bearer token).
Your prices and the recommended price
Push your own prices (one at a time or in bulk, up to 2,000), read the group comparison and the recommended price. A recommendation does not apply itself: it reaches you through a webhook after approval.
Signed delivery with retry
Each webhook carries X-4Pricing-Signature (sha256=<HMAC-SHA256 of “<timestamp>.<body>”>) and X-4Pricing-Timestamp, and failed deliveries are retried with backoff. Events: alerts, price.apply, price.revert and briefing.ready.
What the 4pricing API and webhooks offer, as this page describes them
| Feature | What you get |
|---|---|
| REST API | JSON responses from authenticated endpoints, 60 requests per minute per account, OpenAPI spec |
| Price history via the API | The price history of tracked products; reads are free |
| Webhook | A signed POST (X-4Pricing-Signature, X-4Pricing-Timestamp) to one URL per account, retried with backoff; events: alerts, price.apply, price.revert, briefing.ready |
| Sales | POST /sales/bulk, up to 2,000 rows, idempotent per product and day |
| Opportunities and briefing | GET /insights/, GET /opportunities/, GET /briefings/latest |
| Price actions | GET /actions/ and POST /actions/{id}/confirm after applying a price.apply |
| API keys | Created and revoked in the panel, sent in the X-API-Key header, need an active plan |
| Own prices | Push your own prices, one by one or in bulk up to 2,000, with no credit used |
Generate an API key from the panel and start calling the REST endpoints; the limit is 60 requests per minute per account. Credits are used only when a shop page is fetched — a search, a new product from a URL, a refresh or a new group member from a URL; reads and pushing your own prices are free. For events, register your webhook URL and verify the signature of every POST; on a price.apply you apply the price in your own system and call POST /actions/{id}/confirm. Opportunities and the briefing are read with GET /insights/, GET /opportunities/ and GET /briefings/latest.
